Construction of Guangqing Intercity Rail Transit from Qingyuan to Provincial Vocational Education City starts

[Nanfang Daily News] On September 5, the start of the Guangqing Intercity Rail Transit Project from Qingyuan to Provincial Vocational Education City was held in the square in front of Qingyuan Station of Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway. Guangdong Governor Ma Xingrui attended and announced the start of the project.

The Guangqing Intercity Rail Transit Section from Qingyuan to Provincial Vocational Education City is the first intercity railway project to start after the approval of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intercity Railway Construction Plan". The line is 19.7 kilometers in length, leading from the northern end of Qingyuan Station and passing The Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed rail is introduced into the Provincial Vocational Education City, designed at a speed of 200 km/h, and the total construction period is 4 years. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will effectively optimize the traffic conditions in the provincial vocational education city and the areas along the route, realize the convenient round trip between the provincial vocational education city and the provincial capital Guangzhou, and strongly support the construction of "dual districts" and "one core, one belt and one" District" development, vigorously promote the northern ecological development zone to connect the Pearl River Delta region, improve the level of integrated development of Guangqing, and promote the integration of Qingyuan City into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The construction of the Guangqing intercity rail transit from Qingyuan to the provincial vocational education city started as scheduled, marking a new level of Guangqing integration. This will strongly promote the coordinated development of the region and accelerate Qingyuan’s integration into the Pearl River Delta and the Greater Bay Area. Build a well-off society in an all-round way and inject new momentum into it. The project mainly solves the problem of internal and external communication of Qingyuan rail transit, connecting Qingcheng and Qingxin districts, connecting the Provincial Vocational Education City, the Qingyuan Olympic Sports Center, the main venue of the 16th Guangdong Games, and connecting the Qingyuan West Comprehensive Transportation Hub under planning. The planned layout of the Guangzhou-Qingyuan-Yongyang High-speed Railway and Zhaoqing from the intercity and the Guangzhou Metro’s north extension line are integrated to form a comprehensive transportation hub integrating “iron, public and water”, making Qingyuan rail transit beaded and truly becoming a “big track "Bay Area" node city.
