Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 is the first aorta in Chengdu’s “East Advance” strategy. For the first time, the line connects Chengdu’s main urban area, Tianfu New District, Eastern New District and Tianfu International Airport, and optimizes the overall layout of Chengdu’s “East Advance” transportation network. Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 is the fastest line in the domestic urban rail transit that uses subway vehicles. For the first time, this line uses 8 A-type marshalling vehicles with a speed of 140 kilometers per hour, considering the integrated operation of the dual international airports, and reserves the maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour in the common line of Line 18 and Line 19.

September 27 is also the 10th anniversary of the opening of Chengdu Metro. Over the past ten years, Chengdu has vigorously promoted the rapid integration of rail transit into a network. From the initial one line with an operating mileage of only 18.13 kilometers, it has grown to eight lines with an operating mileage of nearly 400 kilometers; the average daily passenger volume has risen from 120,000 to over 4 million rides; the minimum travel interval is reduced from 8 minutes and 30 seconds to 2 minutes; the share of public transportation has been increased from 3.2% to over 50%; the maximum daily passenger flow reached 5.256 million rides, and the safe transportation of passengers has exceeded 5.5 billion Times.
