Guangxi's first unmanned rail transit vehicle base was put into use

[Netease News] On August 28, Guangxi Nanning Rail Transit Line 5 fully automatic subway vehicle base was officially completed. Guangxi's first unmanned subway train officially entered the base track and entered the static debugging stage.

The fully automatic subway vehicle base for Nanning Rail Transit Line 5 in Guangxi, which was built by China Railway 18th Bureau Group and other units, was put into use on the 28th. The base has a total construction area of 150,300 square meters, a total of 51 tracks are laid, and 40 vehicle parking spaces are set up.

It is reported that the base mainly has two parts: a vehicle maintenance library and an application library. It is responsible for the commissioning, inspection, operation, and maintenance of more than 20 unmanned subway trains. It mainly uses new technologies such as intelligence, informatization, and ecology. Through the linkage between the systems, the unmanned train and the energy-saving operation of the station's electromechanical equipment are realized, which greatly reduces the overall energy consumption and labor costs of the system, and improves the operation efficiency.

The Nanning Metro Line 5 train is equipped with a 4-movement, 2-carriage, 6-carriage B-type car with a maximum speed of 80KM/H, 232 seats, a capacity of 1,484 passengers, and a maximum capacity of 2,102 people.

The length of the line is 20.2 kilometers. The section starts from Guokai Avenue Station in the south, passes through Zhuangjin Avenue, Mingxiu West Road, Mingxiu East Road, Nanwu Avenue, Kunlun Avenue, and reaches Jinqiao Passenger Transport Station in the north. It connects the backbone of the city’s southwest-northeast direction. , Connecting the Nahong area, the Jiangnan area, and the area on the north side of the Yongjiang River, further strengthening the connection between the two banks of the Yongjiang River. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic on December 28, 2021.

Nanning Metro Line 5 is equipped with 24 trains. The appearance of the vehicles is based on the theme of "inheriting classics". The originality of the lamp shape comes from the Guangxi folk custom "Hydrangea". The main color of the car is blue, and the side of the car body adopts a "Yongshui Blue" belt running through the train, which echoes the main color of the line, symbolizing Nanning's luxuriant foliage and vitality under the nourishment of the mother river Yongjiang.

After Nanning Metro Line 5 is officially put into operation, it will be networked with the existing Metro Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 and Line 4. The maximum daily passenger volume can exceed 700,000 passengers, forming a connection with major foreign companies. Fast passages between transportation hubs give full play to Nanning’s role as a hub in the ASEAN regional transportation network.
