Kunming Metro Line 4 and Line 6 Phase II opened the initial operation

It marks that Kunming Rail Transit has entered the era of "networked" operation.

Kunming Metro Line 6 is the backbone line between Kunming's main urban area and Changshui International Airport, mainly responsible for transportation between Kunming's main city and Changshui Airport. The first phase of the project was opened simultaneously with Kunming Changshui International Airport in June 2012. The second phase of Line 6 project started in Tangzi Alley of Dongfeng Square and officially started construction in 2015. It has a total length of 7.28 kilometers and is equipped with 4 stations and 4 sections of Tangzi Alley Station, Chajie Station, Dongjiao Road Station and Juhua Station. Connected with Line 6 phase II, which greatly facilitates the travel and transfer needs of citizens. After the initial operation of the second phase of Line 6, the operating hours of Line 6 will be adjusted to 6:20-23:00. Among them, the direction of Tangzixiang Station to Airport Central Station is 6:20-22:55, and the Airport Central Station to Tang The direction of Zixiang is: 6:20-23:00, and the driving interval is 10 minutes. The journey time is 29 minutes.

As the backbone line connecting the main city of Kunming and the airport, the second phase of line 6 will directly connect the core area of the main city of Kunming and Changshui International Airport after the initial operation, which will greatly improve the convenience of getting to and from the airport in the main city. Serving the passenger transport needs of the airport and the main city. At the same time, the transfer with Metro Line 2, 3, and 4 will give full play to the advantages of large capacity, punctuality and convenience of urban rail transit, and play a strong support and guiding role for urban development.

Kunming Metro Line 4 is the second batch of PPP demonstration projects announced by the Ministry of Finance on September 29, 2015, and it is also the first batch of PPP projects implemented in Kunming. Construction started in December 2015, which was the first subway project to open in the second batch of PPP projects announced by the Ministry of Finance. Line 4 starts at Jinchuan Road Station in the northwestern part of Kunming’s main urban area and ends at Kunming South Railway Station in Chenggong New City. It passes through the six administrative districts of Wuhua, Gaoxin, Panlong, Guandu, Jingkai, and Chenggong, with a total length of 43.4 kilometers. There are 29 stations in total.

The operation time of Line 4 is 6:20-22:45. Among them, the direction from Jinchuan Road Station to Kunming South Railway Station is 6:20-22:20, and the direction from Kunming South Railway Station to Jinchuan Road Station is 6:20-22: 45. On working days and weekends (holidays), the driving interval is 6 minutes and 8 minutes during peak hours and non-peak hours. The whole journey time is 75 minutes.

The opening of Metro Line 4 will effectively promote the passenger flow exchange between the northwestern area of the main city and the rail transit backbone network.It is an important rail transit line after the first phase of line 1, and 2, 3, and 6 operations. The transfer of lines 1, 2, 3, 5 (under construction), and 6 effectively strengthens the connection between Chenggong New District and the main urban area of Kunming, and plays a positive role in promoting the industrial development of Chenggong New District and enhancing the development vitality of Chenggong District . In addition, Line 4 will effectively connect the Kunming South Railway Station and the main city of Kunming, and play an important role in promoting the passenger flow exchange function between the transportation hub of Kunming South Railway Station and the main city.
