Pursue Craftsmanship, Demonstrate Competence | Legate ITV Equipment Assembly Skills Competition Comes to a Successful Close

To thoroughly implement the company’s production philosophy of “Quality‑Oriented, Strive for Perfection”, promote the spirit of craftsmanship, fully motivate front‑line employees to delve into technologies and sharpen their professional skills, and foster a positive team culture of competing, learning, catching‑up, helping and excelling, the ITV Equipment Assembly Skills Competition, sponsored by Luzhi Trade Union and organized by Legate Production Department, kicked off smoothly in the production workshop. Twenty skilled front‑line technicians gathered at the venue to compete against one another in a rigorous contest balancing speed and quality, craftsmanship and teamwork.

PART 01 Hand‑in‑Hand, Toward a Shared Future

Eligibility

Open to Legate front‑line workshop employees. Participants are selected through voluntary registration combined with team recommendations.

Competition Event

Complete assembly of ITV equipment for the North‑22 Project. Each team shall finish assembly of 2 units of ITV equipment within the allotted time, covering full assembly procedures including mechanical assembly, cable connection and routing, component mounting and fastening, as well as self‑inspection.

Competition Schedule & Format

Adopting a team‑based competition format, the 20 participants are divided into 4 teams of 5 members each. Competition tasks are closely aligned with real‑world production assignments. Teams are required to complete full assembly of North‑22 Project ITV equipment within the time limit, covering the full scope of on‑site work: mechanical assembly, cable routing and connection, component fastening and mounting, and finished‑unit self‑inspection. The competition comprehensively assesses contestants’ hands‑on proficiency, process compliance and team collaboration capabilities.

Evaluation Criteria

The judging panel consists of representatives from the Production Department, Process Department, Quality Department and R&D Center. Strictly following scoring guidelines, judges conduct on‑site supervision and documentation throughout the event to ensure fairness, impartiality and transparency.

Adopting a 100‑point comprehensive scoring system, total team scores are calculated across three dimensions: completion speed (40%), assembly quality (30%), and compliance with process standards (30%). Individual scores take into account both on‑site personal performance and team deliverables, recognizing individual expertise while encouraging win‑win teamwork.

PART 02 Competition of Craftsmanship, Showcase of Excellence

On the competition ground, all teams were high‑spirited and well‑organized in task division. Upon the judge’s signal, the contest officially commenced. Team members performed their respective duties in close coordination: fetching components, tightening screws, plugging in cables, arranging wire routing, and conducting finished‑unit self‑inspection. Every movement was precise and standardized, and every assembly step was carried out with meticulous attention to detail.

01 Practical Competition Site

Striving for Perfection to Demonstrate Solid Expertise: At each competition venue, contestants concentrated and worked methodically. Every step, from tool placement and operational norms to detail control, was pursued to perfection. The contest measured assembly efficiency while upholding strict quality and process requirements. Assessment covered every detail: accuracy of component installation, compliance of torque tightening, cable pin‑retention integrity, equipment functional performance, working procedures, personal protective equipment compliance, and 6S workplace site management.

02 Judging Site

Rigorous Assessment to Safeguard Quality Standards: The judging panel remained impartial and duty‑bound. In accordance with evaluation guidelines, they conducted thorough scoring and comments across multiple dimensions including operational standardization, technical proficiency, deliverable quality and professional ethics. Judges recognized contestants’ strengths and highlights, while pointing out deficiencies in their operations.

PART 03 Recognizing Outstanding Talents & Setting Benchmarks

1. Honors and Incentives to Inspire Progress

At the award ceremony, leaders from the Trade Union and Production Department presented certificates and bonuses to outstanding individuals and teams, recognizing the dedicated efforts of all contestants. Regardless of ranking, every participant identified gaps, accumulated experience, and improved professional capabilities through on-site competition, achieving dual progress in technical skills and professional horizons.

2. Role Model Leadership to Unite Endeavoring Strength

Competitions have an end, yet learning knows no bounds. This skills competition served not only as a professional contest but also as a practical on-the-job training exercise. Adhering to the principle of promoting training and learning through competitions, the activity brought real workshop work scenarios to the competition arena and implemented process standards into practical operations. It further strengthened all employees’ awareness of quality assurance, production safety, and standardized operation.
